How can I blow a MiniDV movie to 35mm Film.

    1. Which MiniDV is best? (less than $4000)
    2. What Hardware and configuration are best for movie editing (Computer < $3000).
    3. Which software is best to do special effects ( MAx $200)
    4. Where can I go to blow this movie to 35mm film (in USA)
    5. Is is costly to blow to 35 mm. What quality I can expect when 35mm is ready.

    Regards
From a new comer, but I am a crazy guy. I would like to pursue this as my next hobby.
    Any help there? 100% appriciated.

    Crazy--

One of the best labs for Tape-to-film is FilmCraft in Detroit. Thay have been at it a long time. They charge ALOT!!! I think it is about $450.00 per minute. You read that right minute. And, you will not find places for much less. As, for the computer stuff. I recently switched from AVID to Final Cut Pro and a MAC. Final Cut is about 1000.00, the computer about 4000.00. Good luck.

    Thank you very much.

I can afford the software and Computer.
    $450.00/min is beyond my budget.
I am looking somewhere close to $15K-$30K for 180 Min film.
Is 16mm cheaper? How about quality?

    THANKS THANKS

16mm is cheaper but I don't know the price off hand. As for the quality, Video will always look like Video no matter how you show it. Also--if you plan on shooting film then getting a transfer to video only to go back to film you are wasting money. Plus, there are all sorts of artifacts that show up from going from 24fps-to-30fps-to-24fps. Good luck
